Interview with Jill Heller Fiddle, Director of Special Projects, The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation:

1. What was your relationship with Danny Fiddle?

I was Danny’s aunt and he was my first nephew. We shared a special connection with one another that went beyond words. I always understood what Danny wanted to convey, even if he could not say it. His beautiful blue eyes were so expressive. Birthdays were always fun for us. Each year, I would go to stores and close my eyes imagining that I was Danny---and I thought---what would I want if I were him? Sure enough, to the amazement of his mom, Linda, I always found the perfect “Danny” gift. It seems fitting that I continue to celebrate his special day with the development and lighting of the Blessing candle.

2. What inspired you to create the Blessing Candle for The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation?

A few years ago I came across this wonderful line of scented candles and found myself buying them for my home as well as for gifts, teachers, parties---you name it! Everyone who received a candle always commented on how beautiful it was and that it filled his or her home with a fragrant light. Later when we were thinking of a special and unique item that we could offer as a signature of The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation these extraordinary candles came to mind as a way to exemplify our mission to honor the light that shines within every child.

3. Can you describe The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Blessing Candle?

The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Blessing Candle is a large pillar that stands 5 ¼” tall by 3” round and has a burning time of approximately 70 hours. It is natural in color with a crimson red band of color punctuating the bottom band of the pillar. This contrast of color is a signature of the Bennington Candle line making the candle appear strong and supported. One does not need a fancy holder to put it in; it stands on its own so well that the simplest tray will do. Adding to its elegant simplicity is the scent: an aromatic blend of essential and natural oils from flowers, herbs and trees. The combination of frankincense, cedarwood and lemon fill the room with a soothing, calm fragrance that invokes a warm feeling, especially knowing it is lit to honor the light in a special child.

4. Tell us about the company that produced the Blessing Candle.

The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Blessing Candle is manufactured by Bennington Candle Company located in Bennington, Vermont. The owner of Bennington Candle Company is Stephen Briere and his enthusiasm for this project is truly a “blessing”. And get this…Steve and Danny share the same birthday!!! So much for icing on the birthday cake!!!

5. How long will it take for me receive my order?

Turn around is usually within 2 weeks. Once we receive the order, it is processed and sent to Steve. Orders are then packed and shipped via UPS directly from his studio in Vermont. And the great thing is, if your order is for 2,5,10 or even 20 candles, shipping costs only $3.95 per order!
